Spiritual domain is the level of connection we have with God. The first commandment states: “You should love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.” (Mark 12:30)
Growing this domain is about prioritizing two things, hearing from Him and putting into practice what we hear. This combination fosters intimacy, obedience and trust. Jesus was perfectly in tune with the Father, rising early to connect with him and modeling obedience, even when it meant death on a cross.
Mental Domain is the creativity and knowledge we have available to invest. The skills and
competencies we learn allow us to thrive in life. It’s measured in learning, creativity, and insight. In the same way our diet (what we ingest into our body) affects us, our mental diet (what we listen to, read, think about) does too! This domain encompasses the state of our thoughts, emotions, and intellectual growth.
The pursuit of lifelong fitness and wise stewardship of the body through both movement and nutrition. Measured by consistent, disciplined choices—how we move and what we use to fuel that movement—it includes regular exercise, sufficient rest, preventive health practices, and promptly addressing stress, injuries, or illness. It also focuses on the quality and balance of what we eat and drink, recognizing that our relationship with food is an important part of our relationship with God.
The resources we have to invest. The currency is dollars and cents. Financial Domain ranks lowest in our hierarchy. People get into trouble both by over valuing and devaluing it. When we overvalue money and sacrifice all kinds of other Domain to obtain it, it never quite fulfills its promise to us. Studies show that as soon as we have enough, getting more money doesn't satisfy us like we think. However, when money is invested in others, (instead of ourselves) it does increase personal happiness.
Relational capital is the level of trust we have built-up (or eroded) with family, friends and colleagues. It’s both the quality and depth of our relationships. It’s measure in vulnerability, influence and impact. It’s living out the second commandment, which says, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:31) In reality there is very little one can accomplish without working alongside and engaging others.
40 day fight is a mental, physical, spiritual, relational and financial challenge. You'll set specific targets to hit every day in the categories of physical, mental, spiritual, and nutritional health. And then you'll commit to fighting to do them for 40 days straight. 40 days is a Biblical timeframe that allows us to connect with Jesus in a unique way. It's the length of time He was tempted and fasted in the desert. It's long enough to "right the ship" and set the foundation for new habits. But it's short enough to feel like something we can accomplish.
The 40 day fight is a challenge that seeks to help you INTEGRATE these areas towards a God-honoring pursuit.
