Fighting for balance

"In everything you do, whether in word or deed...

We are called to honor God in everything we do (Colossians 3:17). But when it comes to our mental and physical well-being, many believers struggle to find the right balance between our faith and fitness. Does any of this sound familiar?

  • Ignoring physical wellness altogether - "hey, we're free in Christ"
  • Idolizing fitness, appearance, or seeking affirmation through trying to look a certain way.
  • Seesawing between extreme challenges and all-out gluttony, or ignoring your health.
  • Feeling shame because you know you should "do better" but you just can't find the motivation.
  • Slowly sliding into physical disarray because of poor choices over time.
  • Being unfulfilled or unmotivated in our fitness and nutritional goals - what's the point?
  • Feeling hopeless, because you've fallen so far and you don't know where to start.

With all your heart, soul, mind, and strength - Matthew 22:2

Why 40 days?

We chose 40 days on purpose. In scripture - the number 40 has incredible significance. Here are just a few examples:

- The Great Flood lasted 40 days.

- Moses fasted for 40 days before he received the law.

- Manna rained down on the Israelites for 40 years.

- Jesus fasted for 40 days in preparation for his public ministry.

- For humans, from conception to birth is typically 40 weeks.

The number 40 is SO significant! It's long enough to allow for bold changes - but short enough that it doesn't feel overwhelming to take on.

So, for 40 days, you will invite God into this journey by  focusing on these 5 areas:

What 40 day fighters are saying

"The 40 day fight is such an eye -opening experience. It's encouraging to see yourself soar - and a struggle when you fall short...I learned so much about who I am and what truly motivates me to make lasting strides in life. I'm looking forward to the next time around!"

“I liked the concept of a “fight” because it helped me visualize…we’re fighting against our flesh because that’s what we’re all doing.”

Jenn Salyer -Momma and 40 day fighter

The 40-Day Fight helped me give up idols, build fitness habits that honor the Lord, and refocus myself on how my relationship with Christ is connected to my body and fitness goals.
